A bare 11 4’s team went to the wilds of Lincoln to play Leadenham 2’s a team on a division well below the sum of their parts. Playing a 3 at the back defence of Oscar and Graham we fought hard and Fraser having the game of his life kept us to 0-0 for over half the first half. They came at us wave after wave. On 18 minutes they finally broke the line. But still we held out 1-0 end of first half. There were scant episodes of attack and the second half started in the same vein. We could argue the result was 2-2 with their second goal a beautiful swivel and hit bu Fraser as the ball was by his left shoulder and he reactively hit it off the back line. Unfortunately the goal was in the way and there has been a shot immediately prior to the attempt. Not to be out done Norman roofed a goal bound strike from the attack and at some point they scored a 4th. The takeaways need to be 1. They had 7 short corners in the first half and scored none of them. 2. We lost count of Fraser saves including a toe end onto the bar and 3. Everyone put in a shift with attempts to press so as to reduce the pressure and tracking back to turn over. A really really well played game against other opponents in the league that would have been a W for South.
