The might 4’s took on Belper 8 at home in a pulsating affair settled in the last few minutes. South opened the scoring with Ken slotting home from open play following good work by the whole team. This was after 2 or 3 squandered moments by south, notably Ken’s best pass of his career being wasted by me on the p spot! Going 1 up lead to Belper stepping up and pushing hard working some chances well saved and stopped by Simon and the back team with Oscar picking balls for fun. He enjoyed that so much he occasionally gave it back so he could have another go!
Second half started to open up Shri and William moving higher assisting Jake and Ken to move up, but we were than having to work harder at the back. Moving into the final Quater it was Belper in a bit of control getting some dangerous moves and South regrouping. Then a ball to the left corner passed accross the D defender mis-controls it hits his foot and playing an advantage the ball is collected by the attack controlled and the keeper nutmeged for 2-1. A fence least few minutes play out PC after PC for Belper. Tired legs on the pitch. A break a PC to South. The ball is injected Ken stops pushes it into the D strikes bottom right keeper gets his stick to it and it rides over the stick and into the net. 3-1 south. We survive the last minute and cheer a well earned victory.

Well done South. Well played everyone. Jake deserves special mention in tireless attack and setting up the second. Norman for bossing midfield and Adam and the Grahams our backing trio! (I’ve already mentioned Oscars stellar performance.
