Match Report

Another much changed South produced a well organised and determined performance against a Boots team who seemed to have raided their 3rds to try and banish their own relegation fears. However the battle for survival will go on for both sides after a 2-2 draw.

The first half was attritional battle played primarily between the midfields with neither side coming out on top and other than a couple of half chances that were dealt with easily by both keepers the game went into half time at 0-0.

The second half started in the same vain, however some idling by the Boots defence allowed Tom to self pass a free hit, walk straight into the D, and smash it in to the far corner.

Boots responded with a point to prove and struck back quickly when some confusion in the South defence led to Boots equalising, sadly the ball fell to probably the only person on their team who could finish to put the game back all square.

South were not disheartened though, the new found confidence from previous weeks knew they could retake the lead and so they did. A poor injection from Tom at a short fell out to Adam, whose shot, which was in the D, and was going wide , deflected towards Tom who glanced it home from chest high.

Boots came again straight after the goal and despite some excellent defending from Tom C, Craig, apparently he made two goal line clearances , and Matt they did find a way through.

With minutes to go the long ball forward fell to Max whose shot look destined to find the bottom corner, which would have sent the watching crowd into delirium, however a toe nail from the Boots keeper was enough to see the game finish all square, which although it pains me to say, was a fair result.
