Men's 1st XI Vs Mansfield 2

The 1s traveled to Mansfield to face a side in strong post-Christmas form, eager to exact revenge for past encounters. South, unfortunately starting a man down, approached the challenge with a determined mindset, drawing inspiration from the legendary kicking back performance of Andy Wallace in a previous meeting against the same opposition. However, history was not to repeat itself on this occasion.  

Despite the numerical disadvantage, South worked tirelessly, creating multiple opportunities against the run of play. Midfield dynamo and Man of the Match Finn put in a relentless shift, breaking up opposition attacks with crucial tackles, while keeper Doney produced a string of impressive saves to keep the team in contention.  

Mansfield’s pressure eventually told, with well-executed short corners proving the difference. The final scoreline of 5-0 did not reflect the team’s efforts, as South battled bravely throughout, showing great resilience and determination.
