Men's 2nd XI Vs Nottingham 2

South Notts 2’s vs Notts 2’s
Souths took the field already soaked without picking up their sticks. 
From last season, we knew the refs would have it in for us but we decided to keep our focus on the task at hand. (they weren’t any better this year.) 

The first half saw Souths moving the ball around nicely and keeping hold of possession but couldn’t capitalise with a few balls heading into the D and not picked up by Alex which is not the usual. These chances would come back to bite him at the final whistle. 
Another opportunity which came as a surprise as rare striker Mark envisioned the ball hitting the post while everyone turned their backs and got into a scramble with the keeper.  
South also managed to force 3 short corners in quick concession but again, unable to execute. 
Lead into half time 0-0

Second half started with Souths winning another short corner in the first few minutes and with a change up. Ben slotted a “danger push” just past the right of the keeper. 

Souths held off Notts well and were suddenly seen accepted a penalty flick for whatever reason the ref saw. (Deja vu) 
This gave Notts the much needed equaliser. 

As the clock ticked down, Souths fought really hard but just could not get a good shot off from the many opportunities created. 
The final minutes saw some interesting calls and a vital one that caused even Batty to loose his cool seeing him sit the rest of the game on the sidelines. 

A massive game from all the youngsters who put their all into the game a fought till the very last second! 

All in all, should have been a win but we will have to accept the draw and keep spirits high going into the next game.
